Introduction
Founded in 1991 by Tim Sweeney, Epic Games is the developer of Fortnite and Unreal Engine. The company operates out of Cary, North Carolina with more than 40 offices worldwide. Thanks to their wide reach, Epic Games can create immersive worlds for players through games like Fortnite that are also able to be used for other purposes such as film and television
Insofar as possible, we want you to have fun while using Epic Games’ offerings. Keeping your space and account safe is a crucial part of this. The following are some recommendations and resources for defending your Fortnite account and yourself against any threats that may arise.
Protect Your Account By Enabling- Two-Factor Authentication
Password security is essential to avoiding account theft. To help you better protect your account from hackers, we’ve enabled Two-Factor Authentication (2FA, commonly known as 2-step verification). If you use two-factor authentication on your Fortnite account, the game will reward you with the Boogiedown emote for use in Battle Royale, 50 extra storage slots in the Armory, 10 extra slots for your backpacks, and a Legendary Troll Stash Llama.
Keep Your Account Details Secret : Epic Games
Websites that offer free V-Bucks, cosmetics, account trading, or account purchasing have been linked to several cases of account theft and fraud. Never give anyone else access to your Epic account details. Fake websites that promise discounts on Fortnite in return for user information should be avoided. Keep in mind that no one from Epic will ever ask you for your password directly.
Parental Authority And Supervision
Find out how to set up Fortnite with kid-friendly settings by reading our comprehensive guide to parental controls. Parents can restrict their children’s access to mature content in Fortnite via a number of different settings. You can limit a player’s access to Fortnite on consoles, handhelds, phones, and PCs, in addition to the game’s own parental controls.
The setup instructions for parental controls are available for all of the major platforms, including the PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Windows 10, and iOS.
Recording Misappropriate Conduct
Since we want Fortnite to be a place where everyone feels welcome and can have fun, we monitor player actions very closely. All rules and guidelines for our community may be found in our Code of Conduct. Use the Fortnite game’s Report Player feature to let us know about players who are behaving inappropriately or breaking our Code of Conduct. Check out our detailed tutorial on how to report inappropriate player activity if you need help.
If you have any suggestions for making group play of Fortnite more enjoyable, please share them with us! Check out the Community section of the Fortnite FAQ for further details on where you can discover our official social networks.
Fortnite Accounts Should Not Be Sold, Purchased, Or Traded In Any Way
There is currently no way to create a Fortnite account on the Epic Games website other than in-game or with parental approval. Although purchasing an account with valuable content may seem like a good idea, doing so is against our Terms of Service and puts your own account and information at risk.
Refuse To Fall For Free Epic Games Scams

Online scammers are common and often use the lure of free goods like V-Bucks to trick you into giving up your personal details. Be wary about entering contests or competitions hosted by strangers. Similarly, you should be aware that Epic would never ask for your identity details to enter a contest. You won’t be asked for any personal details until you claim your Epic prize (via our secure partner).
Cons Of Social Media
We are aware that many people who sign up for the Support-A-Creator program do so in order to deceive and scam others, and we are working to remove these Creators from the system and stop them from doing so in the future.
Commonly, these people will create social media content that falsely assures viewers that they will receive a reward for using a specific Support-A-Creator coupon when they don’t. These con artists frequently target islands that lure players with false promises of free items or gold. These users enter the code but never hear back from the developer with the promised supplementary material.
You will not receive an Outfit or free V-Bucks from the Creator if you redeem a code for them. The Creators’ and Epic Games’ agreement expressly forbids the making of any material with the intent to defraud or scam players. When this happens, the Support-A-Creator program will kick you out and stop any further payments you have scheduled.
We are looking into new ways to curb program abuse, and we will not tolerate any infractions of our TOS or CH. Send a ticket to Player Support with the hashtag #report creator if you want to report content that you find objectionable.
